Access denied and missing menus - PHB Docs

PHB shows each person only what their role can use. Most “missing” menus are working as designed.

Missing menus

You notice	Why	What to do
The hospital sidebar has fewer items than a colleague’s	The sidebar is filtered by your role. Owners and admins see everything.	Ask your owner or admin if you need another role.
A menu item is greyed out with Not available yet or soon	That feature isn’t built yet.	See Feature status.
No Invite staff card	Only `owner` and `admin` can invite.	Ask them.
No Cashier window card	You don’t hold `cashier`.	Ask your owner or admin.

Redirected somewhere else

What happened	Why
You opened `/clinical` and landed on `/hospital`	You don’t hold the `clinician` role.
You opened `/clinical` and landed on `/clinical/onboarding`	You hold `clinician`, but your MDCN licence isn’t verified yet.
You signed in at `/hospital/login` and landed on `/nursing/triage`	You are a nurse with no front-office role.

”No access” messages

Message	Meaning	What to do
No facility access	You have no role at any facility.	Ask your owner or admin.
The front desk isn’t part of your role	You opened the desk without `receptionist`, `owner` or `admin`.	Ask for the role.
Registration is a reception task	Same as above, on the register page.	Ask for the role.
Nurse workspace — permission needed / No nurse access here	You don’t hold `nurse` at this facility.	Ask for the role.
You don’t have lab access at this facility.	You don’t hold `lab_tech` here.	Ask for the role.
Pharmacy access only: “Ask your facility administrator to assign you the pharmacist role”	You don’t hold `pharmacist`.	Ask for the role.
You can’t open the bed board / You can’t open the admission queue	Your role isn’t in Operations.	Ask for the right role.
Audit log permission denied	Only `owner`, `admin` and `medical_director` can view it.	Ask one of them.

You can see a patient’s name but not their record

That’s expected. Working at a facility doesn’t give you access to a patient’s record. A clinician needs a basis: consent, a treatment basis, or in a real emergency the emergency override. Front desk and cashier never see clinical records. See How records are protected.
