Normally a clinician asks and you approve in the app. Sometimes you can’t. Your phone may be flat, you may not have one, or you may be unwell. PHB never blocks your care for that reason. It gives clinicians two limited ways in, and always tells you.
These routes are built. Their clinical governance is awaiting clinical sign-off (decision D-006).

The two routes

Both routes are time-limited. When the time is up, the access ends by itself.

What you are told

You are always notified, by in-app, SMS and email notice. You can’t switch these messages off. The messages don’t name the clinician or contain any record details. For the full picture, open your Access log.

Where you see it

  1. Open Consent (/consent).
  2. Find the Access log.
  3. A treatment basis appears as Opened your record on a treatment basis. Later reads appear as Viewed your record (treatment basis · non-sensitive).
If an entry looks wrong, revoke access you no longer want. See Who viewed my record and Consent and access requests.

What the clinician does

The clinician sees these in their own screens:
  • A Basis line that reads Treatment basis · non-sensitive, Break-glass · full record or Patient consent · full record.
  • Open a treatment basis, when no basis is active.
  • Break-glass access, when past notes are sealed. It asks for a reason first.
  • An optional Confirm identity check at the desk.
The identity check asks for things such as surname, date of birth, state, LGA or the last four digits of the HPN. It shows Identity confirmed, Partial match or No match, and always adds that care continues. A miss never blocks care. Clinicians: see Getting access to a record. Front desk: see Walk-ins.
