Status: live. All clinical content is awaiting clinical sign-off. The tests, analytes and default reference ranges are draft. PHB’s seed notes that they stay draft until the clinical advisor approves them. Check the ranges against your own analyzer and procedures.
What the catalogue is
- Test master. PHB’s list of tests a lab can offer. Each test is identified by its LOINC code, an international code for lab tests. A lab can only enable tests from this list. It cannot add its own.
- Analytes. A test is a single result, a panel of several analytes, or a document. Each analyte has a unit and a reference range.
- Your lab’s copy. When you enable a test, PHB copies the default analytes into your lab. You then adjust the copy to match your analyzer. Turning a test off and on again does not erase your edits.
Reference ranges
- A range is one of: between, up to, at least, less than, or greater than. It can also be plain text.
- Ranges can depend on sex. An analyte can have a male row and a female row. The result sheet picks the row for the patient’s sex, and falls back to the general row when none matches.
- Qualitative analytes, such as positive or negative, show their allowed values. You cannot edit those values yet.
Who can change what
Open Test catalogue in the lab menu (
/lab/catalogue). A hospital that runs its own lab manages the same list in its facility settings.
Change the catalogue
1
Choose tests
Under Lab tests offered, tick the tests your lab runs. Set the price and the turnaround in hours.
2
Save
Click Save. The number in brackets is how many rows you changed.
3
Edit ranges
Click Edit ranges on an enabled test. A test must be saved as enabled first. Edit the Unit, Range, Low and High for each analyte, then click Save ranges.
