When a patient buys medicine over the counter, or brings a prescription from outside PHB, you can add it to their record. It is labelled with where it came from.

Before you start

You need the role pharmacist, PCN verification, and the patient’s HPN or phone.

Steps

1

Open Record a sale

Click the Record a sale tab.
2

Whose record?

Choose By HPN or By phone and click Find patient.
3

What are they taking?

Add from the medicines catalogue, or type a name. Add Dose, Quantity and Instructions.
4

Where did it come from?

Choose Over-the-counter or Outside prescription. For an outside prescription you can add the Prescriber (optional).
5

Confirm who they are

Check the patient’s name, and date of birth if on file.
6

Save

Click Save to the patient’s record. You see Recorded.

Correct a mistake

If you saved the wrong thing, click Recorded in error? Undo. You see Record corrected. You can only correct records made at your own pharmacy.

What you can do here

  • Record OTC sales and outside prescriptions.
  • The patient sees them in their record. Clinicians with access see them too, labelled by origin.
This record type is built. Its clinical sign-off is still open (decision D-006).
