# Record a sale

> Add an over-the-counter sale or an outside prescription to a patient's record.

When a patient buys medicine over the counter, or brings a prescription from outside PHB, you can add it to their record. It is labelled with where it came from.

## Before you start

You need the role `pharmacist`, PCN verification, and the patient's HPN or phone.

## Steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Record a sale">
    Click the **Record a sale** tab.

  <Step title="Whose record?">

## What you can do here

* Record OTC sales and outside prescriptions.
* The patient sees them in their record. Clinicians with access see them too, labelled by origin.

<Note>
  This record type is built. Its clinical sign-off is still open (decision D-006).
</Note>
