# Using USSD

> Use PHB on any phone by dialling *347*731#, with no smartphone or data.

USSD works on any mobile phone, including basic phones, with no internet.

## Before you start

You need a phone with a Nigerian SIM.

## Steps

    Dial `*347*731#`.

  <Step title="Choose a language">
    **1** English or **2** Pidgin. Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa are coming soon.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Register if you're new">
    If your number has no PHB account, you see **1 Register now**. Follow the steps. You get a provisional HPN and a welcome SMS.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use the main menu">
    The main menu shows your HPN and these options:
    **1** Book · **2** Meds · **3** Labs · **4** Nurse · **5** Emergency · **6** Wallet · **7** Profile · **8** Language · **9** Help · **0** Exit.

## What you can do here

| Option | What it does |
| - | - |
| **1** Book | Choose a doctor and a time. Pay from your wallet or at the facility. |
| **2** Meds | See your active medicines. |
| **3** Labs | Lab results are private. View them in the PHB app. |
| **4** Nurse | Ask the Care Line to call you back. See [Request a call](/guides/patient/request-a-call). |
| **5** Emergency | Tells you to call 112. |
| **6** Wallet | Check your balance. |

## Your PIN

The first time you pay from your wallet or look at your medicines, you set a 4-digit PIN. After that, you enter it each time. Keep it private. Too many wrong tries locks it for a while.

## Common problems

| What you see | What to do |
| - | - |
| **That choice is not valid. Please dial again.** | Dial again and choose a number from the menu. |
| **Those PINs did not match. Please dial again.** | Dial again and type the same PIN twice. |
| You were asked to wait after several requests | Wait a while. In an emergency, call 112. |
