# Download your record

> Get a copy of your record safely, and check that a printed copy is genuine.

## Before you start

You need to be signed in, with an email address on your account.

## Steps

    Open **Records** and choose download.

  <Step title="Confirm it's you">
    PHB sends you a code. Enter it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your email">
    PHB emails you a one-time link. Open it to download your record. The record is never shown in the download window itself.

## Check a printout is genuine

Every downloaded record has a Document ID and a QR code.

1. Go to `/verify`, or scan the QR code.
2. Enter the Document ID.
3. PHB shows whether the document is genuine, with a few facts that are not medical details.

## Common problems

| Problem | What to do |
| - | - |
| No email arrived | Check spam. Make sure your email address is right in your profile. |
| The link doesn't work | It works once. Start a new download. |
| No code arrived | Wait a moment and try again. |
