# Ward board

> See the beds on your ward, who is in them, and their last vitals where you have access.

## Before you start

You need the role `nurse` at the facility. Your hospital must have wards and beds set up.

## Steps

  <Step title="Open Ward">
    Click **Ward** in the sidebar (`/nursing/ward`).

  <Step title="Read the board">
    The **Ward board** shows live occupancy: **Occupied**, **Available** and **Cleaning** beds.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check vitals">
    **Last vitals** show only for patients you hold a basis for. Otherwise you see **Open the chart to view vitals (consent / treatment basis).**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the observations chart">
    Click an occupied bed to open the patient's observations chart. Only the **fluid balance** tab is live.

## What you can do here

* See your ward at a glance.
* Open a patient's chart or observations from their bed.

<Note>
  The other observation tabs, thresholds and breach alerts are waiting for clinical sign-off. **Alerts** in the sidebar is not available yet.

## Common problems

| What you see | What to do |
| - | - |
| **No wards configured** | Ask your owner or admin to add wards in Configuration. |
| **No beds in this ward yet** | Ask them to add beds. |
| **No nurse access here** | You don't hold `nurse` at this facility. |
| **Session expired** | Sign in again. |
