# Nurse

> Your guide as a nurse: how to sign in, what you need first, and your workspace for triage, vitals, the ward and handover.

This guide is for staff with the role `nurse`.

## Before you start

You need:

* [ ] An invite from your hospital with the role `nurse`. See [Accept a staff invite](/account/accept-a-staff-invite).
* [ ] Your work email, password and authenticator app.
* [ ] A **verified NMCN licence**. Until then, recording vitals, triage, handover and tasks are locked. See [Nurse onboarding](/guides/nurse/onboarding).

## Sign in

1. Go to `/hospital/login`. There is no separate nursing sign-in page.
2. Enter your work email and password, then your authenticator code.
3. You land on **Triage** (`/nursing/triage`).

<Tip>
  If you also hold a front-office role, such as `admin` or `receptionist`, you land on `/hospital` instead. Open the nursing workspace from there, or go to `/nursing`.

## Your screen

The left sidebar has **Today**, **Ward**, **Triage**, **Patient**, **Tasks**, **Handover**, **Help & guides** and **Account**. **Alerts** is coming soon.

In the top bar:

* **Find a patient · HPN**: type a full HPN to open the patient.
* **Comfortable** or **Compact**: choose how dense the lists are.

Until your licence is verified, a banner says **Complete your NMCN onboarding to attend to patients**, with **Complete onboarding**.
