# Lab onboarding

> Verify your MLSCN licence so you can sign and release results.

## Before you start

You need the role `lab_tech`, and your MLSCN licence number (folio) and its expiry date.

## Steps

    Go to `/lab/onboarding`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your MLSCN licence">
    Under **Verify your MLSCN licence**, enter your name, licence number and expiry date, and submit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for the check">
    PHB checks the council registry. When it passes, the banner on **Orders** goes away.
  </Step>

## What you can do before you are verified

* See the order queue.
* Receive and reject specimens.
* Enter and save draft results.

You can't **Sign & release** until your licence is verified.

## Common problems

| What you see | What to do |
| - | - |
| **Sign in first** | Sign in at `/lab/login`, then come back. |
| **Manual review · in progress** | PHB is checking by hand. Wait for it. |
| **That license number is already registered.** | Contact PHB. |
