# Set up your hospital

> Work through the 6-step setup wizard so your hospital can go live on PHB.

## Before you start

You need:

* The role `owner` or `admin`.
* Your hospital's legal name, registration details, address, opening hours, departments and ward list, and a price list.

The wizard is at `/hospital/setup`. You reach it from the setup card on `/hospital`. It isn't in the sidebar.

## Steps

  <Step title="Facility profile (required)">
    Legal name, level, registration, at least one site, and operating hours. This appears on your listing in the patient app and on every invoice. A facility needs at least one site to go live.

  <Step title="Branding (optional)">
    Logo and accent colour for the patient app and receipts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Departments & wards (required)">
    Departments group wards. Wards hold beds. The bed board, admission queue and tariff categories all use this.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tariff catalog (required)">
    Publish a live price list. The front desk can't issue invoices until one version is live. See [Pricing and tariffs](/guides/hospital-admin/pricing-and-tariffs).

  <Step title="Staff import (optional)">
    Invite the people who will work in PHB. See [Invite staff](/guides/hospital-admin/invite-staff).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review & go-live (required)">
    Run the final check and schedule go-live. Front-desk work begins, and the patient app starts showing your facility.

Each step has a button that takes you to the right part of **Configuration** (`/hospital/config`), such as **Edit profile & sites on Configuration** or **Build & publish tariffs**.

## What you can do here

* Complete each step in any order, then go live.
* Come back later. Your progress is kept.

## Common problems

| Problem | What to do |
| - | - |
| Go-live is blocked | One of the four required items is missing: profile, a site, departments and wards, or a live tariff. |
| You can't find the wizard | Open `/hospital` and use the setup card. |
| Fields are read-only | You don't hold `owner` or `admin`. |
