# Pricing and tariffs

> Build your facility's price list, publish it, and understand the co-sign rule for big price changes.

Your **tariff catalog** is your price book: every service you charge for and what it costs. Patients never type a price. Every invoice reads from the live tariff.

## Before you start

| Edit a draft | `owner`, `admin` or `finance` |
| Publish | `owner` or `finance` |
| Co-sign a big change | `finance` and `medical_director`, two different people |

Open **Configuration** and scroll to **Tariff catalog**, or use the sidebar link under Tariffs. This goes to `/hospital/config#tariffs`.

## Steps

  <Step title="Create a draft">
    Under **New draft version**, give it a clear label, such as "2026 base tariff". Click **New draft**. You can copy from the live version.

  <Step title="Add services">
    For each line, enter **Code**, **Service name**, **Category** and **Price ₦**. PHB suggests a code that you can change.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish">
    Click **Publish**. If no price went up or down by more than 5%, it goes live straight away: **Published — now live.**

  <Step title="Co-sign if needed">
    If any price changed by more than 5%, the version becomes **Pending co-sign**. One person with `finance` and a different person with `medical_director` must each click **Sign / approve**. When both have signed, it goes live.

## What you can do here

* Keep several versions: **Draft**, **Pending co-sign**, **Live**, **Superseded**, **Archived**.
* **Reject** or **Withdraw** a co-sign request.
* Delete a draft you no longer need.

## Rules to know

* An owner alone can't approve a big price change. It needs both co-signers.
* The same person can't sign both parts.
* A co-sign request has a deadline. If it lapses, start again.
* The front desk can't issue invoices until at least one version is live.

## Common problems

| **No tariff versions yet.** | Create your first draft. |
| **You already signed a leg of this request** | The second signature must come from a different person. |
| **You hold both roles — specify which leg to sign.** | Choose whether you are signing as finance or as medical director. |
