# Accept a staff invite

> Open your invite email, choose your own password, and set up your authenticator the first time you sign in.

When your facility's owner or admin adds you to PHB, you get an invite email. You use it once to choose your password.

## Before you start

You need:

* The invite email. It goes to your **work email**.
* A phone with an authenticator app, for your first sign-in.

## Steps

  <Step title="Open the link in the email">
    The link opens the **Set your password** page. It shows the facility that invited you. If you only have a code, open **Open your invite** and paste the **Invite link or code**.

  <Step title="Choose your password">
    Enter a **New password** of at least 8 characters, then **Confirm password**. Don't reuse a password from elsewhere. You choose it. Nobody else sets it.

  <Step title="Sign in">
    You see **Invite accepted. You can sign in now.** Go to your sign-in page. See [Staff sign-in](/account/staff-sign-in).

  <Step title="Set up your authenticator">
    On your first sign-in, PHB shows **Set up your authenticator**. Scan the code with your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code.

## Common problems

| What you see | What to do |
| - | - |
| **Invite not available** | The link has expired or was already used. Ask your owner or admin to resend the invite from your staff page. |
| You already set a password | Click **Already activated? Sign in**. |
| You never got the email | Check spam. Then ask your owner or admin to resend it. |
